2003
Tribute To Toronto's Towers

Bonnie followed a series of articles in the Toronto Star newspaper that focused on the plight of the major cities in Canada and their need for a "New Deal" with both the provincial and federal governments. Of most interest to her were those stories that focused on the challenges that Toronto faces. The "New Deal" series was of such interest to her that it inspired her to design a 2003 desktop calendar to illustrate the unique personality of some of the buildings that make up Toronto's skyline... Tribute to Toronto's Towers.

With this design focus in mind, several days were spent walking around downtown with a digital camera, capturing a ton of images. The challenge that followed was one of selection. So many great shots had been taken that it was difficult to narrow down the selection to the 50 images that were used in the calendar.

To best describe the buildings, an adjective was given to each month and the images were grouped to illustrate these descriptives... soaring grid of May's 200 King St. W.; structured symmetry of August's Royal Trust Tower; spiritual stained-glass-like reflections in December's Standard Life Centre.
